Bear Lake/June 2009

We, the Brian Smith family, like to do a couple of things, multiple times, each summer. Call us crazy, but with little kids, they are great trips for us and we have so much fun. Bear Lake is one of those 2 to 3 times a summer trips. Lagoon is the other! I know...

No, we don't have a boat or a cabin. The beach, with the kids, seems to be enough for us.
We always seem to get reservations at the USU Training Center, and then at the hotel at the Blue Water Resort.

This trip, we spent two nights with Paul and Ben's family, at the Training Center. Jane was busy with Graduate School and her life, in general. Mom and Dad are in Norway, on a mission, and Troy's family happened to be in Norway during the reunion.

So, some of us reunioned and others didn't this year, but it was still a great time. I'm so happy to be friends with all my siblings and I can honestly say, I like them all very much.

Then the Smith's extended our trip at Blue Water. We had a great room with a lake front view, and we continued the fun. The weather could have cooperated better, but I we all made the best of it.

Die hard beach boy, Cade.
Then there is sweet Uncle Paul...sharing chocolate!
These birds come around every time I throw a chip...ummm?
Bury me AGAIN, please Dad!
Look, we are builing our "own" lake!
Ummm....delicious!
...AGAIN...

'Thomas the Tank Engine'

Year number 3 for "Day Out With Thomas. It was great!
Caden still loves trains, but the novelty of Thomas has worn off a bit, in my opinion.

Preschool 'Goodbye' Day

Cade had a great year at Jacques's Preschool! Mom, Dad, and Ellie attended a great 'Goodbye Day' program/ceremony. We've come a long way from all the tears to lots of friends, learning, and fun!

Congratulations Caden S.!!!

Ellie's "little" Surgery

Last Wednesday, Ellie had tubes put in in hears. We are glad there are options for her ear infections. Grandma Thomas needed these options when she was little.

Ellie did great. I was dreading the moment they take her away, but they got her loopey enough that she couldn't have cared less...which was fine with me, given the circumstances.

Ten minutes later, literally, they brought her back to me, crying. She had to hang out and cry with me for a half hour before we could go home. She took advantage of that, and I felt terrible for her, but was relieved it all went smoothly.

Ellie was playing around the minute we got home. Later, we had an "Ellie's Special Day", celebration, which included a "store-bought" cake with flowers on it. Cause she is Mommy's little girl.

Love you so much Elizabeth Jane!
