Sweet Morning

This was one of those mornings a mother loves. Cade was being so sweet to his little sister and she was eating it up.

What if every morning started out this way?

Elder and Sister Thomas

(Click on pics to see them larger.)

Well, Mom and Dad have arrived in Oslo, Norway. It has been quite the "waiting" game until now. After having their call four months, an eight day stint in the MTC, another couple of weeks in Logan waiting for their visas, they have arrived.

For me, there have been many tearful moments as I pondered the next 18 months without my parents. However, spirits were high yesterday as I spoke to them on the phone, from Norway. They sounded exhausted, but relieved to be there and ready to charge ahead. I hope the young people that will surround them understand how lucky they are. How could they not?

As for me, I will pray for them and try to be strong in my support of their big adventure. Love you so much Mom and Dad!

Caden Turns Four

Caden's birthday was a great day for all of us. My favorite part was going to preschool with him to celebrate his big day with his class and teachers. He was the honorary "leader" for the day, got to lead the class in the Pledge, and facilitate the counting activity. Brian helped him share a poster of himself with pictures of things he likes to do. We all sang Happy Birthday, took pictures, and Mom, Dad, and Ellie left with gigantic smiles.

That afternoon, we had a big party at Classic Skating with Caden's friends and family. Lots of cousins were there along with all four grandparents. What a lucky guy! His best friend, Taylor, was there with his brother and sister, and a new friend from preschool, Eric, came too. Batman was the theme for the cake and Caden had fun blowing out his candles and opening presents.

Off we go!

I have had the urge to try this blogging thing for a while. Thanks to a good friend, I'm all ready to try it out. We'll see how I do!

Today is Caden's fourth birthday! He is perfect! We have already been to his preschool class to watch him be honored, as the birthday boy and "leader". When I picked Caden up, he wanted a cheeseburger (with pickels) which was granted. We are off to his birthday party, with family and friends, in a bit. I'm sure it will be exhausting and great!

Mostly, I have been thinking how quickly the time has passed. Four years ago our little family changed forever and it is wonderful. Caden has been so much fun. He is so nice and fun to be with. He is a great big brother and I couldn't be more grateful for our little family.
